Endangered Animal Speeches

This is a resource page in case you decide to do an OPTIONAL Powerpoint presentation!

You can SKIP the notecards if you decide to do a Powerpoint.
You can use the Powerpoint instead of the notecards!

1. Check with mom and dad to see if you have Microsoft Powerpoint on your home computer. You are all set if you do!

2. You are not out of luck if you do not have Powerpoint!

You can download Open Office for FREE if you do not own Powerpoint. Open Office Impress does the same thing as Powerpoint! It can save files as Powerpoint and Microsoft Word files!

Here is the link to download OpenOffice: http://www.openoffice.org/index.html

You'll be all set after mom or dad downloads and installs Open Office.

Here is a blank template to get you started:

Right-click and "Save Target As" to download:
TEMPLATE
(Powerpoint and Open Office will open this file.)

You can customize this template any way you choose.

Here are 2 examples of presentations created by last year's students:
(Right-Click and "Save Target As" to download and view. Powerpoint and Open Office will open these files.)

Sample 1: Giant Panda
Sample 2: Malayan Tapir

3. Use our class website and GOOGLE to find information. Use Google Images to find pictures. ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU SEARCH THE INTERNET WITH A PARENT!

Our class research page is here:
Mr. Jameson's Endangered Species Files

4. Create and save your presentation.
IMPORTANT: If you use Open Office, be sure to use "Save As" and save it as a "Microsoft Powerpoint 97/200/XP (.ppt)" document!
Bring it to school on a burned CD or e-mail it to me as an attachment at:
ejameson@gvsd.org

HAVE FUN!
