- Expectations:
- This project is NOT a written report. It
is a research & speech project. Students are expected to
turn in a set of note cards and perform a carefully
practiced speech.

- 1. Use the class
website links (below),
library books, and resources you find on your own to collect
information about your
- animal.

- 2. Keep all of your information in your
project folder.

- 3. The folder must come to school each
day!

- 4. Collect the information on your color
coded index cards.

- 5. You have 2 of each colored card.
- One is for a rough copy. Use it while
you collect your information.
- One is a final copy. Organize your
information, print neatly, and use it when you give your
speech!

- 6. You need 4/5 facts per card.

- Sort your information carefully! Be sure
not to REPEAT information on different cards!

- Blue=APPEARANCE
- Green= DIET
- Pink=HABITAT/LOCATION
- Yellow=ADAPTATIONS &
SPECIAL FEATURES
- Purple=INTERESTING FACTS

- 7. Study the information on your final
copy and prepare to use the notecards to give a 2/3 minute
speech!

- This is how your speech will be
scored:

- 8. After you give your speech you will
use the final copy cards to create an animal display
IN CLASS! The animal displays will be shared with your
parents when they visit our classroom to tour our Undersea
Adventure. A date for this event will be announced
shortly!

- 9. Your research and all of your cards
are due on MONDAY, MAY 11th!

- 10. You may also want to print 5/6 color
pictures to use on your animal display board.

- 11. GOOD LUCK! Be sure to study the
information and be prepared to give your speech on Monday, May
11th!!!
